Hon. Rome Ibekwe, Mayor of Anaocha, joined the parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Neni, in celebrating the parish's Silver Jubilee anniversary. The 25th anniversary Mass, officiated by Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, was a grand celebration of faith, perseverance, and divine providence.
The parish, which began as an outstation at Ezekwudo Primary School in the 80s and 90s under St. John's Catholic Church has come a long way. Today, it boasts a magnificent, fully completed church building, a testament to the faith and dedication of its parishioners.
During the Mass, Bishop Ezeokafor emphasized the importance of serving God and humanity, stressing that this should be the essence of Christian life. Hon. Ibekwe noted that the Bishop's message aligns with the initiatives of the local government, which focuses on serving the people. He commended the Parish Priest and the parishioners for their dedication to the growth of the parish and expressed hope that the jubilee celebration would inspire renewed spiritual fervour in the community.
The Mayor's presence at the celebration underscored the significance of the parish's milestone and the importance of faith-based initiatives in the community. As the parish looks to the future, Hon. Rome Ibekwe joins the parishioners in wishing them continued success. May this celebration mark the beginning of a new era of spiritual growth and service to humanity.
