MAYOR OF ANAOCHA LGA, HON. IBEKWE, CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY.

On May 27th, the Mayor of Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Ibekwe, celebrated Children's Day alongside numerous others across Nigeria. This important occasion highlights the dreams, potential, and vibrant energy of future leaders. Hon. Ibekwe expressed tremendous pride in the children from various Anaocha communities, such as Neni, Agulu, Ichida, Obeledu, Adazi-ani, Adazi-Nnukwu, Adazi-enu, Agukwu Nri, Akwaeze, and Aguluzigbo.

The Mayor emphasized that children are not only a joy today but also the future's leaders, innovators, and caretakers. He outlined the local government's development strategy, which focuses on providing education, healthcare, and safety for every child in Anaocha. Recent efforts include the opening of new Science Physics and Chemistry laboratories at Flora Azikiwe Model Comprehensive School and the installation of solar-powered boreholes at Neni Civic Centre to ensure access to clean water, with further projects planned in Agulu and across the Council Area.

Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of a Skills Acquisition center in Agulu and the recent empowerment of 500 youths through a Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programme Initiative on May 14th, 2025. The local government has also introduced free health insurance for 1,000 Ndi Anaocha and launched a vaccination initiative for children.

The Mayor urged parents, educators, leaders, and community members to reaffirm their dedication to creating an environment where every child can grow, learn, and thrive peacefully. He wished all children in Anaocha and beyond a Happy Children's Day, emphasizing that they embody the promise of the future, and the local government will persist in advocating for their rights to a better life.

In closing, the Mayor reiterated the local government's commitment to realizing the GREATER ANAOCHA DREAM.
