FREE HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME IN ANAOCHA: OVER 1000 PERSONS ENROLLED, AS HON. IBEKWE PARTNERS WITH ST. CLETUS’ HOSPITAL.

The Anaocha Local Government Area Mayor, Hon. Rome Ibekwe, has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare in Anaocha by enrolling over 1,000 Ndi Anaocha into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIA). Recognizing the importance of healthcare, Hon. Ibekwe partnered with St. Cletus Hospital, Neni, to provide free enrollment for residents and indigene, particularly the aged, men, women, and children in the area.

The initiative aims to provide quality healthcare services to the people, especially those in rural areas who may not have access to medical care due to financial constraints.

Hon. Ibekwe emphasized that healthcare is essential, and the insurance scheme will bring medical care to the doorsteps of the people, reducing untimely deaths and illnesses. He encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of regular check-ups to maintain their health.

The Chief Executive Officer of St. Cletus Hospital Neni, Mr. Calistus Obianodo, highlighted the hospital's commitment to charitable initiatives, stating that partnering with the Anaocha Mayor is part of their efforts to give life to the people. He noted that health is wealth, and with the level of poverty in the society, the insurance scheme will significantly improve the lives of the beneficiaries. Mr. Obianodo called on other affluent individuals to emulate this gesture and help the poor access healthcare.

The Member representing Anaocha Two at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, commended Hon. Ibekwe for the initiative, noting that it aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's efforts in providing free maternal and child healthcare. Hon. Okechukwu emphasized that the scheme will make healthcare affordable and prevent people from patronizing quacks due to financial constraints.

The Anaocha LGA Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Ekene Ezejelue and the Anaocha Council Leader, Rt. Hon. Ephraim Ononye also commended the Mayor and appealed to Ndi-Anaocha to utilize thr health insurance in saving lives.

Mrs. Ngozi Agejelu who is the lead officer from the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, during the exercise, explained the benefits of the scheme, highlighting its role in saving lives. She noted that the scheme operates at a reduced price, making healthcare accessible to the people. Mrs. Agejelu encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the scheme and access quality healthcare services.

The beneficiaries, including Mrs. Beatrice Enemuo and Mr. Nnaemeka Okeke, expressed their gratitude to Comrade Ibekwe for the initiative, describing it as a noble gesture that has given them a new lease on life. They prayed for continued success and guidance for the Mayor as he pilots the affairs of Ndi Anaocha.
